Preparation for Pre-Production of Total Drama: Gonudie Island!
Hey guys just giving an update on some of the steps we'll be taking in the Pre-Production of Total Drama: Gonudie Island. On September 20th Crush TV Productions will be moving to Alberta to start Pre-Production. During pre-production we'll be working on Storyboards, Poses, Backgrounds, Props, Buildings (Cabins, Mess Hall, Carter's Trailer,), Challenge set ups and places associated with challenges, and special characters (special guests and or characters that appear in challenges). We'll be doing all this while I learn 2D Animation online the best I can to help speed up the production process when we get there. We'll be doing these exclusively for 6 months then Crush TV Production will be moving back to Kelowna, BC to start learning 2D Animation in an established institute. Crush TV Production will be recording behind the scenes footage of pre-production for you our fans to help keep you in touch with our progress. Also Crush TV Production will be releasing it's first Documentary The Journey: A Jesse Ilg Story on September 20th as well debuting some of the finished character models in it so stay tuned for that as well. Remember stay beautiful and keep being Total Drama Fan-Tastic!

Amazing Discovery!
Hey Jesse Ilg again for Crush TV. Recently I've been going over the scripts for Total Drama Gonudie Island and have been doing some re-writes and finding ways to shorten the scripts from epic numbers such as 48 pages! To 36 or even 38. During this I decided to check out Final Draft 8 and found out how to use the Duel Dialog function! Now making my scripts shorter has become way easier as all my overlapped dialog doesn't take up half a page but now instead a quarter of a page, but that doesn't make the process any less tasking or easier. For any writers who are interested in writing screenplays for Animated Cartoons or Live Action I'd suggest two programs to you, the first is free and is called Celtix.
Celtix is good for beginners and has an easy interface and gives you industry standard script format scripts. In the word of writing one page in a script can equal one minute of screen time. I consider Celtix the easier one to use as it has a more user friendly interface and has everything presented to you easily.
Final Draft is for advanced users who want to be using the industry standard program for writing. This program takes some time to get used to as I picked it up after almost ten minutes if middling around with it. This program is literally identical to Celtix but lets you change the default industry standard to what ever you want. I haven't really played around with Final Draft 8 that much but to my understanding you can color code certain elements whether that be certain characters to important pieces of dialogue/action. I could see this being useful when you have two different groups of characters or multiple groups of characters and you want to keep track of which characters are with who. Like I said I haven't really played around with it that much but I'm sure it's features help with the planning and writing of a script.
Sadly if you started off using celtix and wanna tranfer your writing over to Final Draft 8 there is no way of doing this, even copy and paste breaks the script format from Celtix to Final Draft.
So for those starting out writing I would say get your hands on a copy of Final Draft 8 just for the fact that this program is the professional and industry standard. If you can't afford Celtix or dont have the means of acquiring it I would just download Celtix for free and start writing using that program.
Good luck with your writing and if you have any questions feel free to leave a comment and I'll see you guys next time.

Total Drama All Stars!
On Sept 10th Total Drama All Stars will premier on Cartoon Network in the US. For most viewers this is just the fifth season to the show but for other it's a whole other ball game. The online community for Total Drama is huge! Fan bases battle each other for who they think is the superior character and fans are constantly obsessing over the next season to come. But this season is different to the online community as it's bring back the old cast who haven't been see in action since the third season ended!
Leaving so many loose ends with the old cast this season has all super fans sick to their stomachs and nervous for their favorite characters and what might happen to them this season. In each Total Drama season there were what I like to call "cannon fodder contestants". These are contestants that we know aren't gonna win but are just around for the purpose of helping build the main characters of the season. But this season is taking all those main characters and pinning them against each other for ultimate superiority and title of The Total Drama All Star! Everybody who watches is invested in all these characters and have some of the strongest fan bases of the show including myself.
This season we get to see the aftermath of events that happened in season 3 of Total Drama, Total Drama World Tour. One of the biggest controversies in Total Drama has got to be what happened in the episode 13 I See London... where two final two contestants Gwen (Total Drama Island Runner Up) and Duncan (Total Drama Action Winner) kissed at the end of the episode. This wouldn't be a problem if Duncan wasn't with Courtney at the time sparking the first ever Total Drama Love Triangle! In the following episodes the kiss was found out by Courtney thanks to Total Drama Super Villain Alejandro and Duncan and Gwen were now facing the wrath of Courtney.
During this time Courtney was trying to make Duncan jealous by flirting with us guys and Gwen noticed this thinking it might be getting on Duncan's nerves only having broke up with Courtney earlier in the episode. Duncan and Gwen finally have a chance to actually talk in private about what happened and Gwen gives Duncan the chance to go back to Courtney to only be interrupted in what might be the most cute/romantic moment in TD history. The famed Duncan and Gwen kiss a second time moment where they agree to be a couple but take it slow, with no stupid nick names like pokums and Duncan and Gwen officially became a couple. This was short lived as Gwen would be eliminated the next episode thanks to Courtney in a tie breaker.
Though Duncan doesn't talk about Gwen after she leaves he carves an image of Gwen in his arm rest while in the first class section of the plane. Another famed moment was a bonus clip of Courtney trash talking two of the final three competitors of that season and adding how she's the only one that can sing (The twist of the season was they had to sing one per episode). Courtney starts singing a song about Duncan and Gwen and Duncan stops it by throwing a sandle at Courtney knocker her over. This was then followed up by a third kiss between Duncan and Gwen causing outbursts from character fan bases and relationship fan bases both being respectively called Duncney (Duncan X Courtney) and Gwuncan (Duncan X Gwen).
With a short interation between the two in the fourth season where they were shown kissing for only 3 seconds on screen Duncan and Gwen's kissed stole the show in episode one of the fourth season even though they didn't compete that season.
Now that Gwen and Duncan are back along with Courtney fans are on the uproar about whether Duncan and Gwen will stay together or will Duncan go back to Courtney. This has many fans up in arms and ready to battle in out on the internet on their opinions and predictions of what might happen in the ultimate keyboard warrior show down!
I can admit myself I'm a huge fan of the series and I'm a Gwuncan fan myself. Gwen and Duncan are my favorite characters and when they got together as a couple I was pretty excited and thought it was pretty awesome. But with this season coming up I gotta say sometimes when I think about it I get butterflies because these are characters we've grown to love and to think that anything bad could happen to them is liking having something bad happen to a family member.
This season has stirred up the fans of Total Drama and is defiantly gonna break records at the finale and during it's airing and is gonna get ridiculous amount of views on Youtube. But this isn't where the drama ends.
Courtney after dumping Duncan gained interest in Alejandro the ridiculously good looking villain of season 3 who has a crush on Total Drama season 1 super villain Heather. Heather and Alejandro have strong affection for each other and at the very end of season 3 finally boiled ever and the two shared their first kiss... considerably Heather kneed Alejandro in the groin to then incapacitate him so she could win only to be foiled when she accidentally made Alejandro win but regardless the prize money was destroyed. But the conflict arises and what I'm going to predict in Total Drama All Stars is a Heather, Alejandro, Courtney love triangle and I think this is gonna be the driving force behind the show.
I'm not done yet! Also coming back this season are Mike and Zoey possibly the most cutest couple of the show and both are on the same team this season but one thing was missing from their season. A actual kiss between the two! Mike and Zoey have never kissed on screen and now that they're back fans are hoping for an actual kiss between Mike and Zoey and fans want to know how Mike now handles his multiple personality disorder. Mike and Zoey were also involved in a love triangle with Anne Maria in season 4 with Zoey being the winner and Mike and Zoey becoming a couple.
These are just some of the main points why Total Drama All Stars is gonna be one of the hottest shows this winter and is a definant watch if you love reality tv and have watched past season of Total Drama.

Our Founder!
My name is Jesse Ilg and I'm the founder of Crush TV Productions. Currently I'm attending the Centre for Arts and Technology in Kelowna BC and is close to finishing the Digital Filmmaking Course and will then be taking 2D Animation in January of 2014. I came to CATO with the hopes of gaining the knowledge to get my animated TV shows on the air and learn how to make myself unique in the industry. After taking the film program for almost 16 months I've learned that in order to get anywhere in the entertainment industry you have to have a mind set of "I'm want to do this, I'm gonna do it, and anything that gets in my way will not stop me". This is my motto and the reason why Crush TV Productions will be a big name in the entertainment industry.
I'm working on three shows right now and I've been in contact with Tom McGillis, President of Fresh TV in Toronto. Meeting Tom was one of my all time goals and attending TAAFI in Toronto and being apart of the Teletoon Industry Day helped me find my reason for wanting to entertain and gave me the determination to want to be known in the industry. I'm making myself better by gaining the knowledge of how to do live actions production and animated production. I want to be able to make my own ideas come to life one way or another no matter how hard or tasking it may be.
One thing I learned by talking to Mike Valiquette was if you want something you have to work hard for it and be determined to do anything it takes to make it a reality. Even if it takes a long time, if you stick to what you want to do and keep doing regardless if you get any recognition you do it for yourself to prove to yourself you can do it. Sooner or later people will recognize you for your work it just takes time.
Never in my life had I been so inspired and fired up to just do what I wanted to do and do anything to make it happen. This is what Crush TV Production stands for, seeing a vision and doing anything to make it a reality. I see so many amazing ideas in my head with no way of making them a reality and it can be frustrating but find a way to do it and become the best you can at it. This is why I'm taking 2D Animation, if nobody whats to help me make my show then screw you I'll do it myself and make myself better and make my vision a reality. Crush TV Production stands for the art of animation and film and wants to keep it alive in the industry. I've always wanted to make my shows but didn't have the means to and now I'm gonna have the means to make it no matter what it takes.
Crush TV Productions is always looking for other determined artists to join our team and help make your vision a reality. If you're interested in joining Crush TV Production just send me a message or leave a comment below.
