Hey everybody recently my class was visited by Ashley Ramsay from Yeti Farm Creative! For those who don't know Yeti Farm is a Boutique Studio here in Kelowna BC that does work for Atomic Cartoons making shows such as Rocket Monkeys and a new shows named Pirate Express! Ashley visited our class and gave us some awesome insight to how they work and some industry knowledge. Although I've talked to many producers from multiple studios Ashley gave us all a look at even something I haven't seen before. I liked her detailed look at the production schedule for a show they're working on and how it effected their work flow.
I was also surprised to hear how the industry pays it's animators, it's a system I like cause it's a self pushing system, so to say the least the better work you produce and the faster you can do it the more you can get paid. It allows those who have the best skill to earn more for their talent and hard work and that's something I like to see. It's a system that directly rewards those who manage to get more work done and maintain quality in their animation which is a very great system.
The idea of working in the animation industry seems way more interesting to me know then it ever did before after this visit from Ashley Ramsay. I look forward to working in the animation industry and earning a great wage based on my talents as an animator.
Thanks for reading everyone and have a great day!
